What's new at EPIC 5th St? May fundraiser, new hours, Patio grand opening, upcoming events, and more.


What’s New on the Menu?

While there is almost always something new at EPIC 5th St, we want to make sure you know about some of the latest noteworthy dishes.

  • Don’t miss out on GNUDI’s special 3-course meal for Mother’s Day! See details below.

  • MEAT SHACK BARBECUE has a smoked brisket Philly cheesesteak on its menu - try it, it’s delicious! And don’t forget to check out their Mother’s Day special below.

  • A staple on SEITANS’ menu, the Cheezeburger Sub is sure to hit the spot! Seitan beaf patty, layered with smoked chedda, mack sauce, crisp iceberg lettuce, and spicy garlic dill pickles on a torpedo bun.

  • What’s on tap? Our current AlleyKat lineup includes RazzyKat, a refreshing wheat beer with the perfect sweet and sour raspberry flavour, aroma, and bright pink hue!


May Fundraiser

Throughout May, in support of Mental Health Awareness Month, $1 from each Banded Peak Beer sold will go towards the Canadian Mental Health Association Edmonton! Come to EPIC 5th St and drink for a good cause! 🍺

Canadian Mental Health Association Edmonton offers a variety of programs and services that assist individuals 16 years of age and older with reaching their short and long-term mental health goals. It it the leading community mental health organization in the region, delivering key services in the areas of mental health support, education and training, wayfinding, and collective action.


New Hours

We’ve made changes to our hours:

  • Monday - CLOSED

  • Tuesday - 12PM to 8PM

  • Wednesday - 12PM to 8PM

  • Thursday - 12PM to close

  • Friday - 12PM to close

  • Saturday - 12PM to close

  • Sunday - 12PM to 8PM


Playoffs: Round 2! 🏒

The Oilers are going forward to the second round of the playoffs!!! Our local draft beers will still be $5 during every Oilers playoff game, so stop by for a bite and drinks whether the Edmonton team plays at home or away!


Patio Season is here!

Now that the weather warmed up, the snow melted away, and the sun is out, it's patio season! ☀️ Whenever it’s sunny and warm outside, we will have our 60-seat patio open for you to enjoy. We’re also organizing a Patio Grand Opening event on May 13 - check the details below.


Upcoming Events at EPIC 5th St

Weekly happenings:

  • Power Hour: every Tuesday to Friday from 4 to 6PM, cocktails are on special.

  • Tap Out Tuesday: every Tuesday, all our local draft beers are $5!

  • Thicc Thursdays: your favorite pizza from Seitan's... as a Detroit-style deep dish!

  • Wings & Beer Thursdays: grab a pound of Meat Shack Barbecue's smoked wings and an Alley Kat draft beer and save $$$!

May 8 | Charcuterie & Wine with Meuwly’s

This interactive workshop will be led by Chef Peter Keith from Meuwly's, who will walk you through the steps of building a beautiful board with delicious cured meats, cheeses, condiments, and crackers. Of course, this event would not be complete without wine! Several tasters will be offered throughout the evening, carefully selected to be the best pairings to the meats and cheeses used on your board. And even better, you'll get a take-home gift!


May 13 | Patio Grand Opening

It’s time to officially open our patio! Join us on Saturday, May 13 for some fun under the sun. ☀️ We’ll have a DJ throughout the afternoon, food and drink specials, and giveaways to make it a memorable day.

May 14 | Mother’s Day 🌸

Celebrate the mom(s) in your life in style with the following options:

Meat Shack Barbecue

Mother’s Day Platter includes 1/2 lb. Smoked Brisket, 1/2 lb. Pulled Pork, 1/2 rack St. Louis Ribs, 2pcs. Hotlinks, 1 pc. Smoked Chicken Breast, Coleslaw, Beans, Potato Salad, and 4 slices of NY Cheesecake. $85 for 4 people, to feed the whole family! You can pre-order them for pick-up on Sunday or come dine-in at EPIC 5th St (first come first serve).


Gnudi will offer a special 3-course meal for Mother’s Day (dine-in only). A gnudi appetizer followed by spiced picanha with celery puree and rapini, and a passion fruit cheesecake for dessert. $35/person or $65/couple.


May 15 | EPIC Chef Takeover by Chef Lindsay Porter

We don’t have to tell you: Chef Lindsay Porter is no stranger to the culinary scene. After competing and winning various competitions on Food Network, like Guys Grocery Games, Firemasters, Beat Bobby Flay, Chef Lindsay became the first Edmonton chef to take part in Top Chef Canada. Chef Lindsay is now bringing her bold flavors and fiery spirit by taking over EPIC 5th St for an amazing 5-course dinner paired with select wines! In support of Wellspring Alberta.


May 25 | Beer & Charcuterie with Meuwly's and Alberta Beer Festival

Learn more about cured meats and beer! This 1-hour workshop will be led by Chef Peter Keith from Meuwly's and Mark Kondrat from AB Beer Festival. They'll share some stories and fun anecdotes about Alberta's food and craft beer scene, while walking you through six pairings of cured meats and craft beers. You'll learn their approach to creating your own delicious, accessible food and beer pairings at home. And even better, you'll get a take-home gift!


June 5 | EPIC Chef Takeover by Chef Winnie Chen

Chef Winnie Chen has been growing on the Edmonton food scene in the past years - especially with the opening of Fu's Repair Shop, named best new restaurant by Edify magazine. Chef Winnie will take diners on a culinary trip by showing off her Third Culture Canadian Chinese heritage through what's bound to be a delicious 6-course tasting menu. In support of the Chew Project.


June 12 | EPIC Chef Takeover by Chef Alex Edmonson

A Top Chef Canada semi-finalist in 2021, Chef Alex Edmonson has honed his skills throughout the world, including working at several Michelin stars restaurants. Now back in his native city of Calgary, Chef Alex showcases local and seasonal products as a personal chef. On June 12th, expect a spectacular 5-course dinner inspired by French and Italian cuisines - it will be one unforgettable evening! In support of In The Weeds.
